Shower With Goats [pop punk, punk revival, USA]

Shower With Goats existed as part of the NJPP (New Jersey Pop Punk) scene from 1994-2000. They were well known for their unique blend of raw, upbeat punk tunes backed with emphatic vocals. There really was never an "SWG sound". Their influences ranged from many bands including Crimpshrine, Face To Face, Scared Of Chaka, Quit, Big Drill Car, All, and even an occasional heavy punk rock tune ala Blanks 77. They originally formed from the remains of an old band called M.N.F.S.T., and went on to release several 7" records, 1 full length, and copious unreleased tracks on scattered compilation releases. Shower With Goats frontman and founder, Steve Papp, decided to end the band in February 2000 for what he said to be, numerous reasons. The other 2/3 of the final SWG lineup went on to form Chasing The Yellow Line, and Steve now dedicates his time to his site, Poppunk.Com
In March of 2007, Steve met up with long time fans of SWG, Ed Arson and Daryl Goat to jam out some of the old songs for fun, on a trip to see his folks. The practice so well that Steve finally caved in and decided he wanted to do a reunion show with Ed and Daryl. On May 26th, 2007 history was made, as the band played a reunion show to a packed house at Trenton, New Jersey's Mill Hill Basement. This show made a decision to revive the band part time, as Steve now lives in Charlotte North Carolina, and Daryl & Ed both reside in Carlisle Pennsylvania. Under the present resurrection, the band will play 5-6 shows a year along the East Coast. In August, Steve will begin writing a new SWG record to be recorded early next year, slated for a spring / early summer 2008 release.

Shower With Goats это группа из Нью Джерси середины-второй половины 90х. В их творчестве ощущается влияние таких поп-панк/панк ривайвал коллективов, как Crimpshrine, Face To Face, Scared Of Chaka, Quit, Big Drill Car, All и тп, то есть скорости от средних до высоких, никаких особых экспериментов, очень душевно и подомашнему.
В 2000м году SWG распались... Бывший вокалист Стив посвятил свободное время развитию собственного сайта http://www.poppunk.com/, который, как я считаю, был одним из лучших тематических ресурсов подобного рода (лично я именно там в свое время открыл для себя много интересного). С 2003 по 2006 он трудился фотографом для небезивестного сайта Suicide Girls, после чего сосредоточился на собсвенном проекте Pierced and Inked.
А в 2007 году был объявлен реюнион SWG, а также намечен выход нового альбома в 2008 году.
