VA - A Day In The Life Of (2005)

A Day in the Life Of... is a compilation, and the majority of the tracks come from the best demos New School has received in the past few years. Many of the artists have recently become part of other established labels, such as Nitro, Over Giver, Bettie Rocket and more. Genres range from pop punk to skate punk, giving listeners a chance to hear some of the best music from bands that haven’t yet hit it big. This compilation is a must for anyone who loves being the first kid on the block to know about up-and-coming bands!

Очень крутой сборник с New School records. На мой взгляд, одна из лучших pop punk/skate punk компиляций. Тут собраны как песни команд, подписаны на самом лейбле, так и демки, которые приходили от молодых групп, желавших влиться в сторойные ряды New School.

VA - Punktastic Un-Scene 4- 30 Seconds to Impact (2008)

Все помнят легендарный сборник Short Music For Short People? Ведущий британский панк рок ресурс Punktastic.com не стал изобретать велосипед, а просто пригласил 99 команд с коротенькими песнями для совместной компиляции. Как по мне, то получилось просто отлично - один из лучших сборников, которые я слышал за последние несколько лет. Состав исполнителей конечно же не такой звездый как был в свое время у Толстяка Майка, но известных (в определенных кругах) коллективов хватает. Мне, например, в глаза бросились такие имена: Pickled Dick, Laughing In The Face Of, Templeton Pek, Hogwash, Chillerton, The Don Ramos Players, Pendleton, From Plan To Progress, Despondent, 32framespersecond, Zatopeks, The Steal и You Me And The Atom Bomb. Практически всех остальных слушал в первый раз. Подавляющее большинство групп родом с Туманного Альбиона и я, честно говоря, не ожидал, что на столько богата земля британская на панк рок талланты. Из 99 песен не понравилось штук 10-15, для любого сборника это просто великолепное соотношение. Кроме этого, должен сказать, что команды подобраны весьма разноплановые, от поп-панка до мелодик хардкора, от инди до ска панка, от эмо до маткора (которого, к счастью, мало).
Рекомендую не пропустить!
