The Scaries

Even though their native Chapel Hill, NC, has been renowned for its indie upbringing of Superchunk, the Scaries revealed a poppier, more aggressive influence. By taking a cue from the likes of the Descendants, Lifetime, and Jawbreaker, the lineup of Matt (guitar/vocals), Matt (drums), Mike (guitar), and Bill (bass) would release a couple of scattered singles under the Scaries moniker before Dead Ant Farm Records released their first full-length, Over You, in 1997. Following one U.S. tour and three years, their second album, Wishing One Last Time, came out in 2000 with some help from Route 14 Records. ~ Mike DaRonco, All Music Guide.
